Audlem is a Cheshire village near the Staffordshire border, reached via the A529 from Nantwich (8km north) or Market Drayton to the south. The A525 provides east-west connections, whilst most long-distance visitors use M6 Junction 16 via Crewe. The village boasts the famous Audlem Locks, a flight of 15 consecutive canal locks on the Shropshire Union Canal that drop 93 feet in under two miles.
