Atcham lies along the River Severn, five miles southeast of Shrewsbury on the A5. The village sits where Watling Street once crossed the river, with good connections via the A458 from Shrewsbury and M54 Junction 7. The 18th-century bridge by John Gwynn remains the village's centrepiece, still carrying A5 traffic across the Severn.
