Ashcombe lies in the Teign Valley between Exeter and Torbay, reached via the A38 from Exeter or A380 from Newton Abbot and Torquay. The village serves as a gateway to eastern Dartmoor whilst remaining well-connected to coastal Devon. Its 13th-century church of St. Nectan houses a remarkable medieval rood screen with original painted saint panels.
