Arisaig

united kingdom

united kingdom

Arisaig perches on Scotland's west coast where the mainland fragments into islands and sea lochs. The A830 Road to the Isles connects it to Fort William, 47 kilometres inland, threading through Highland glens and past Glenfinnan's famous viaduct. Most visitors follow this route, which continues to Mallaig's ferry terminals. The village enjoys a dramatic setting with white sand beaches and views across to Eigg and Skye's distant peaks. Arisaig railway station sits directly beside the shore, making it possibly Britain's only station where trains arrive at a beach.
