Ardlui marks the northern end of Loch Lomond on the A82, about 60km from Glasgow. It's the last stop before the road climbs into the proper Highlands, making it a popular break for drivers heading to Skye or Fort William. The village sits where the loch dramatically narrows between steep hills. The old railway station building still overlooks the pier where Victorian steamers once called.
