Ardfert is a historic village in County Kerry, 8 kilometers northwest of Tralee on the R551. Most visitors arrive via the N69 from Limerick or N21 from Cork, connecting through Tralee before the short hop to Ardfert. The village centers around the impressive ruins of Ardfert Cathedral, a 12th-century structure that once served as the seat of the Bishop of Ardfert and Aghadoe, making this small community one of medieval Ireland's most important religious centers.
