Aqueduct forms part of Telford new town in Shropshire, reached via Junction 4 of the M54 motorway. The M54 provides quick access from Birmingham and the West Midlands, whilst the A442 and A4169 connect to surrounding areas like Dawley and Coalbrookdale. Over 40 public fast chargers serve electric vehicles throughout Telford. The district takes its name from the world's first large-scale cast iron aqueduct, built in 1796 to carry the Shrewsbury Canal.
