Ancoats lies just northeast of Manchester city center, easily reached via Great Ancoats Street or the A635 Oldham Road. This former mill district has become one of Manchester's trendiest areas, with converted warehouses and new developments. The M60 orbital connects to longer routes, whilst local access comes from the A6, A62, and nearby Mancunian Way. The Rochdale Canal still runs through the heart of the area, complete with working Victorian lock gates.
