Alvescot is a quiet West Oxfordshire village reached via the A4095 between Witney and Faringdon. Most drivers arrive from the M40 Junction 9 route through Botley, or from the A40 via Witney for local trips to Carterton and surrounding villages. The 12th-century St. Peter's Church houses rare medieval wall paintings uncovered during 1960s restoration work.
