Altofts lies just northeast of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, easily reached via the A638 through Normanton or from the M62 at Junction 31. This former mining village now houses commuters working across the Leeds-Wakefield area, with excellent motorway links via the M1 and M62. The Victorian school on School Lane remains the community's educational heart after 150 years of continuous service.
