Alloway, just south of Ayr, is easily reached via the A719 coastal road from the town centre. Most visitors follow the M77 from Glasgow before joining the A77 toward Ayr, whilst Glasgow Prestwick Airport sits just 3 miles north. The village is famous as Robert Burns' birthplace, with his original thatched cottage still standing complete with its clay floor and box beds.
