Alfold lies in Surrey's countryside between Guildford and Horsham, accessible via the A281 which connects both towns. Most visitors approach from the A3, taking Junction 9 through Farnham and Chiddingfold. The village sits among gentle farmland and woodland, with narrow lanes linking scattered hamlets of timber-framed cottages. One of Surrey's last working watercress beds still operates here using traditional Victorian flooding methods.
