Aldreth is a small Cambridgeshire village in the Fens, reached via the A142 from Ely or the A10/A142 from Cambridge (about 20km). The straight fenland roads follow ancient drainage patterns across the flat countryside. St. Andrew's Church houses a remarkably preserved 13th-century rood screen, a rare survivor of the Reformation.
