Ireland
Aclare sits in County Sligo where the countryside meets the Ox Mountains, about halfway between Sligo city (47 km north) and Ballina to the southwest. The N17 provides the main connection, linking directly to both cities and continuing south toward Galway. From Dublin, take the M4 to Kinnegad, then N6 to Athlone before joining the N17 north. Ireland West Airport Knock is within reasonable driving distance. The town's claim to fame is its position on the ancient pilgrimage route to Knock Shrine, marked by a traditional stone bridge over the Aclare River that's been guiding travelers for over two centuries.
