Aberaeron is a Georgian harbour town on the Cardigan Bay coast, famous for its brightly painted seafront houses. The A487 coastal road runs straight through town, connecting north to Machynlleth and south to Cardigan. Long-distance visitors typically approach via the A44 from Llangurig through the Cambrian Mountains, whilst locals use shorter coastal connections to nearby villages. The town has about 18 public fast EV chargers and features a distinctive 1840s stone pier where traditional Welsh fishing boats still moor in the geometric harbour basin.
