Abbeyleix sits in County Laois along the busy N8 between Dublin and Cork, about 80km from the capital. The town centre lies just off this main route, with good connections via the R425 from Durrow and links to Ballacolla and Ballinakill. You'll find about 30 electric vehicle charging points scattered around the N8 corridor and in nearby Portlaoise. The Heritage House on Main Street houses a complete collection of Abbeyleix carpets, beautiful handwoven textiles made locally between 1904 and 1913 using traditional Irish designs.
